Have you ever wondered what billionaires do with their money? They spend them on yachts. Here is a look at the top six most expensive yachts in the world.
Value: $263 Million
Currently the sixth most expensive yacht in the world, the Dilbar is owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov. The cost of this yacht is higher than the gross national income of several small, third world countries. It cost less to build some skyscrapers. But no dollar sign is too large when it comes to owning one of the best yachts.
The Dilbar requires a crew of 47 individuals to operate properly. The amenities inside the yacht are what you would expect after handing over $263 million. It even has a helipad on top just in case Alisher decides to bring his copter with him. The living space inside can comfortably suit up to twenty people.
Not only is this one of the most expensive, but it’s also one of the largest yachts out there. It is more than 50 feet tall and more than 350 feet high. It is one impressive form of transportation.
5. Al Said
Value: $300 Million
A cool $37 million dollars more than the Dilbar is the Al Said, which is owned by Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al Said of Oman. That’s quite a handful to say, but when you can afford a $300 million yacht, you probably expect people to say it all each time. This yacht was a marvel at its time of construction. After completion, it was the second largest yacht in the world. It has since been dethroned.
It takes 154 people to man the ship and can handle up to 70 guests at any given time. Inside, you’ll find a concert hall, game rooms, and some of the best lodgings you could imagine. The concert hall is large enough to hold a full orchestra.
4. Superyacht A
Value: $323 Million
This time, we’re jumping up by $23 million to pay for Superyacht A. It has a strange name, but it’s very fitting. This is indeed a super yacht with a super price tag. It is owned by another Russian billionaire who goes by the name Andrei Melechenko. Unlike the previous two yachts, this one isn’t breaking any size records. Andrei decided to focus on quality rather than space.
It can still house up to 14 guests along with the 42 crew members that it takes to operate the yacht. The inside is where the yacht really shines. It has three different swimming pools, two additional boats, and a master suite that is built for six guests.
Value: $350 Million
An extra $27 million is all you need to pay for the Dubai, a yacht that happens to be owned by the Sheikh of Dubai. It has gone through a few different hands over the years. It was originally known as the Golden Star and was owned by a prince in Brunei. Inside this yacht are swimming pools, spas, helipads, and enough space for a total of 115 guests. This also happens to be the world’s second largest yacht. Taking the place of the Al Said.
Value: Between $500 million and $1.5 billion
The exact value of the Eclipse isn’t known. What we do know is that it costs at least $500 million. Some sources have stated that this monster costs as much as $1.5 billion. It’s tough to say, but either way, it is a massive, impressive yacht. Large enough to eclipse the sun. It even has its own submarine ready to drop and explore the waters at any time.
1. Streets Of Monaco
Value: $1 Billion
This one comes in at number one because we know that it costs a billion. That is nearly three times the cost of the Dubai. However, unlike every other yacht on this list, the Streets of Monaco is still under construction. So far, we know it has a private beach, a lake, a private cityscape, and a go-kart track.
